GOBINDE, MUKANDE, UDAARE, APAARE, HARIANG, KARIANG, NIRNAAME, AKAAME Sustainer, Liberator, Enlightener, Infinite, Destroyer, Creator, Nameless, Desireless Guru Gaitri Mantra: This mantra is said to eliminate karmic blocks, clear the subconscious and bring stability to the hemispheres of the brain. It generates Shakti (primal power) sun energy in every nerve, cleansing the aura and giving us a tremendous protective radiance. It also works on the heart center to develop the compassion, patience and tolerance necessary to manifest in us the courage and grit we need to face the onslaught of time. Meditation: Sit with crossed legs and closed eyes. Place your thumb on the Mercury mound (just under the little finger) and make a tight fist. Bring the fists of both hands together directly in front of the heart center. The top two knuckles of each hand should be touching. Chant the Guru Gaitri mantra powerfully from the navel for 3 to 11 minutes. (Given by Yogi Bhajan Feb 16, 1976)

Guru Ram Das 22:04
GURU GURU WAHE GURU GURU RAM DAS GURU Indescribable is the Guru (the wisdom which takes us from dark to light) The Wisdom that comes from being a Servant of the Infinite. The Guru Mantra: The first part is a nirgun mantra which vibrates only to infinity (the heavens) and has no finite components. The second part is a sirgun mantra which represents form (the earth). The pain and anger of our past, is the pain and anger of our ego, of our limited and earthly self. The Guru Mantra heals this pain and dispels this anger by bringing our heavenly consciousness into the realm of our earthly activities. Yogi Bhajan has said of this mantra can heal any physical or mental situation. Meditation: Sit with crossed legs, eyes 1/16th open. Men, make a mudra with your left hand by touching the tip of the middle (Saturn) finger with the tip of the thumb and with your right hand using the ring (Sun) finger. Women do the opposite. Place the hands on the knees. Chant the Guru Mantra for 3 to 11 minutes. (Given by Yogi Bhajan Nov, 1975 “To bring meditative peace.”)

AADAYS TISAY AADAYS, AAD ANEEL, ANAAD ANAAHAT, JUG JUG AYKO VAYS I bow, I humbly bow Unto the Primal One, Pure, With no beginning, With no end, Who through all the ages stays the same, Who is the One Yogi Bhajan has said of this mantra: “Chant (it) in times of difficulty, when you do not know what to do. It is the mantra that Guru Nanak gave to the yogis. It tells of the glory of God.” I love this mantra. When I chant this mantra I loose all sense of individual self and experience a sense of merger and oneness with the Divine. I get, at least a glimpse of that which Yogi Bhajan promised me 30 years ago. Through the blessing of my teacher and by the Grace of the Guru I have learned that by becoming zero, one be becomes all, and experiences the happiness which is our birthright. Meditation: Sit on your heels with a straight spine. Stretch the arms straight out in front, parallel to the ground. The palms are flat, face the ground, the fingers pointing straight ahead. As you chant the mantra from the navel point, raise the arms up to 60 degrees on AADAYS and then return them to the original position on TISAY 60 degrees on AADAYS original position on AAD 60 degrees on ANEEL original position on ANAAD 60 degrees on ANAAHAT original position on JUG JUG 60 degrees on AYKO original position on VAYS Continue for 3 to 11 minutes. (Given by Yogi Bhajan in his book: “The Mind: Its Projections and Multiple Aspects”)

about

A student once asked his master, “Sir, how far must I travel to find God?” The master placed the tip of his little finger on the student’s navel, spread his fingers wide placing his thumb on the student’s heart. “Just this far, my son. The path is short, but you must have great courage to walk it, because along the way you will be confronted by three great obstacles: anger, fear and grief.”

These mantras come from of the ancient tradition of Kundalini Yoga. They can give us the courage and consciousness we need to overcome these obstacles and make this journey into our own hearts.

about

Tarn Taran Singh Santa Fe, New Mexico

The thing is, I woke up one morning, not many years long ago, and discovered I was 70! How did that happen? I am grateful for this space to share the musical expression of my journey as a soul wrapped in this human form from then to now and beyond. These songs and mantras, and the collaboration with my musical friends, express the wonder and gratitude I have for the innumerable blessings of life ... more
